JBT Hockey Team, IQ Development Program

Championship Culture

Testimonials

“He mentioned he learned new concepts such as trap forecheck and how to read defenders from their body and legs. He had a great time playing with kids he knew as well as making new friendships. Winning the Championship was the bonus. From the parent perspective, local tournaments during the spring/off season are great. My husband and I were very impressed at how engaged the boys were at the IQ zoom. We only wished he was that attentive in his classes. Looking forward to the other 2 tournaments!”

What to Expect

Our goal is to teach players IQ concepts that they can learn prior to games and then train them during games. Players will come out of tournaments more knowledgeable about the game and learn concepts that can be used on any team they play on. We will also focus on mental tactics to teach players leadership, what it means to be a good teammate, how to face adversity, and how to have extreme self-belief."

THE 2:30 MIRACLE

Swain Shootout Championship

With 2:30 left in regulation of the championship game, down 4–1 with an empty net, we witnessed one of the greatest comebacks you will ever see.

2:26 GOAL it 4–2 (Zazzaro from Mcloughlin)

1:54 GOAL it 4–3 (Lee from Bartoli & Zazarro)

0:19 GOAL 4–4 (Perkins from Zazarro & Lazzara)

OVERTIME

After some back and fourth overtime play with Mason Claudio shutting the door on a few breakaway chances. Alessandro Bartoli was able to send a cross crease pass to Macklin Perkins for the Golden Goal.

To keep your head and continue working until the bell sounds shows an extremely composed group of players. The resilience to accomplish something no NHL team has ever done in a playoff game demonstrates an elite mindset. This is proof that you’re never out of the fight; the power of belief can take you a long way. All the credit goes to the players and how they carried themselves.

Learn the game, develop, compete.
